I am a coach for Aurora Specialist Dunks..8years now. We have 50+ athletes in 2 categories. Skills building (for new athletes ) and competitive (more skilled/experienced). Over the years I have witnessed these athletes grow from zero skill/confidence to very very skilled and working on the floor as a team....boosted confidence 💯. I am thrilled at the growth of skill and talent, behaviour socially and includes anger management. As you know individuals with developmental delays struggle with social appropriate behaviour and through sport...they learn manners, team building , communicate with one another in order to move the ball around the court and so on. As a parent...I am proud to watch him grow in skill and maturity. Ps..they have a super great time and are all great friends. How awesome to observe Special Olympics . They can teach us alot about the reason we play and the attitude off accepting a loss with class and grace (always hugs and high fives shared at the end of practice and games. Beautiful!
